#28DaysofGratitude – Day 1

Let’s start small, shall we ?

  1. Two hour long conversations with Mom – because nothing that starts with mom can ever go wrong, right ? The Fellowship year has been tougher on my family than on me. I am the one who decided to change the definition of what normal meant, which in this case, was reducing the number of days we get to spend together. And the blessed family that I have, they were more than happy to accommodate to this new design. I just feel like I have not taken enough time to thank them for their  acceptance of my adventures..

  1. Pizza ! Taking a break from healthy eating and allowing yourself to indulge in a pizza is totally okay on a Friday!
  2. Talks that motivate you to think bigger than yourself – I am addicted to speeches and TED Talks. Better than music, at times, to put me in a better frame of mind. I chanced upon this talk by Tina Roth Eisenberg about creating Labors of Love and her lessons for making an impact. Truth be told, “Impact” is one of my least favourite words nowadays because I feel like it always needs to be so deep and purpose-laden. But it actually is so personal, and can be felt in the smallest of your day-to-days. My personal favourite was the confetti drawer idea!

Before I end this, I also want to acknowledge a quote by the awesome Seth Godin, mentioned in the talk above –>

Who you hang out with determines what you dream about and what you collide with. And the collisions and dreams lead to your changes. And the changes are what you become. Change the outcome by changing your circle.
